Links Lisa Likes – Warriors vs. Nuggets

Last Wednesday, the BF and I went to the Warriors vs. Nuggets game at Oracle Arena.

If you’ve been following me for a little bit, you probably already know that we are huuuuge Warriors fans! You would also might know that we usually like to buy our tickets last minute on StubHub (not affiliated) to save money.

Well, something has happened starting last season/going into this season and it’s incredibly bittersweet. The Warriors have been getting good. Like, really good.

Obviously, this is an awesome thing for us Warriors fans! Our team is finally getting the recognition it deserves, not only here in the Bay Area – but also all around the US. The last road trip they went on, there were Warriors fans at every city they went to!

The reason why I say this is bittersweet is because now – tickets are expensive. My friend and I joked about how now that the Warriors are really good, the real fans can’t afford to watch them! It’s the “bandwagoners” that have driven prices up and can actually afford to go and watch.

Last season, the BF and I bought lower level tickets for $8 each! We scored those tickets last minute, literally a couple of hours before the game stated. Last Wednesday, we paid around $35 each for upper level tickets and we bought those tickets two weeks ahead of time. If we had waited until the day of, we would have paid $50 each! Granted, we did get a free bobblehead of Harrison Barnes, but still! Knowing that we paid much more to have worse seats just isn’t fun.

I’m only “forced” to watch football, and those tickets are crazy (which is weird since some games don’t sell out and then the game is blacked out from TV, so why not lower prices)? Yay for your team doing well!

I think the reason why football games are expensive is because there is only one game per week. With baseball and basketball, games occur more often. I still have yet to go to a football game!

The price of games here are ridiculously expensive. Most baseball games cost over $100, which is why I’ve only been to 1 (and that was free). I’ve resigned myself to the fact that it’s not feasible to go to the games. Plus, the field is about an hour away. You get a better view from home, even if the atmosphere is lacking :/.

I agree, sometimes the experience is better at home. Especially since you’re not surrounded by obnoxious fans haha
